The Dhaka Premier Division Women’s Cricket League is set to begin on Thursday with a total of nine teams participating in this year's event.
Matches will be played across three different venues, according to the initial schedule published by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
In the first match of the season, Mohammedan Sporting Club will take on Kalabagan Krira Chakra at BKSP. Mohammedan are the defending champions of the women’s premier league.
Other teams include Rupali Bank Krira Parishad, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan, Abahani Limited, Khalaghar Samaj Kalyan Shamity, Keraniganj Cricket Academy, City Club, and Gulshan Yuth Club.
This 50-over league is the most prominent women’s cricket league in the country, featuring national team players and aspiring women cricketers.
The champions of the event will receive a prize of BDT 100,000, while the runners-up will receive BDT 75,000. Players of each match will receive BDT 5,000, and the players with the most wickets taken, most runs scored, and the emerging player of the event will each receive BDT 15,000.
