Uncapped Bangladesh batter Zakir Hasan has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Ireland due to a thumb injury.
The 25-year-old southpaw suffered the injury during training at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Thursday.
National team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said Zakir might need two weeks to recover.
So, he will not be available for the ODI series, starting on March 18.
Right-hand batter Rony Talukdar has been named as Zakir's replacement in the ODI squad for the first two matches of the series.
Rony recently made a comeback to international cricket after eight years.
While the first match of the series is on March 18, the next matches will be played on March 20 and 23, respectively.
