Senior Secretary of ICT Division NM Zeaul Alam PAA was present as the chief guest at the inauguration of the training and exchanged experiences on different achievements of ICT division and blockchain technology.
“Blockchain is an important technology that needs to be used properly. There’s considerable interest among our youth on frontier technology. The ICT division is working as a 'front line soldier' using frontier technology, but in this case, we need trained manpower the most,” Zeaul said.
He also expressed the view that blockchain technology would further improve the overall management of the country as well as ensure transparency.
Member of University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Dr Md Sazzad Hossain attended the session as its special guest, said: “Because of coronavirus, we’re now in a difficult time. We need to ensure transparency and accountability during this epidemic. This blockchain technology can ensure transparency, so it needs to be used properly. As there’s no alternative to education and research, all of us need to pay special attention to science and technology, research, and ICT skills.”
The executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Parthapratim Deb conveyed his gratitude to those who helped make the event a success. Also a special guest, he said that the BCC wants to create an innovative environment through which it will be possible to create an entrepreneurial culture, and the council will continue trying to give everyone an idea about the prevalence of frontier technology in the world.
The session was presided over by the project director (Additional Secretary) of the iDEA Project Syed Mojibul Huq, who said that it will be challenging to make decisions for different activities in the future without the frontier technology. If the nation wants to make progress through digital marketing, it must take the help of Frontier Technology and therefore the blockchain technology is a very necessary medium and if the future generation does not gain knowledge on these technologies, the nation will have to fall behind during the 4th Industrial Revolution.
