The Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) has suggested reformation of tax to increase contribution of mobile network operator (MNO) to Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
AMTOB recently placed its budget proposal to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in this regard.
“MNO has been going through multiple issues regarding taxation, it is time to find proper solutions to encourage the industry," said AMTOB President Mahtab Uddin Ahmed.
AMTOB proposed elimination of SIM tax, rationalisation of corporate income tax, elimination of minimum corporate tax, and elimination of double taxation.
