Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has recently launched the 12th version of its popular Note Series smartphones. The latest Redmi Note 12 Series has appeared in four different versions: the standard 12, the 12 Pro, the 12 Pro+, and the 12 Explorer Edition.
The Redmi Note 12 5G receives Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC while MediaTek's Dimensity 1080 chipset is provided in all three Pro variants.
Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition
The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 Octa-core processor and Mali-G68 MC4 GPU power the smartphone. The smartphone has an OLED display with a 6.67-inch diagonal and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.
There are three cameras on the back: a 200 MP wide-angle lens, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro lens. The wide-angle front camera sports a 16 MP sensor. The gadget has sensors like an optical fingerprint reader, an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
A non-removable Li-Po 4300 mAh battery, fast charging at 210W, 66% in 5 minutes, and 100% in 9 minutes (as stated), as well as USB Power Delivery 3.0 power the smartphone. The phone's Android 12 + MIUI 13 operating system ensures lag-free performance.
The price for the single 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model of the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition is CNY 2,399 (about $328 or TK33800), while the price for the same model of the Redmi Note 12 Trend Edition with a striped pattern is CNY 2,599 (approximately $356 or TK36500).
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ vs Redmi Note 12 Pro
Both the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ models have 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED panels with 120Hz refresh rates, making their specifications almost equal. Both phones have the Dimensity 1080 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of fixed storage that cannot be expanded.
In terms of cameras, the Pro+ has an advantage because it is the first Redmi phone to feature a 200MP camera that uses a Samsung ISOCELL HPX sensor. This 1/1.4-inch sensor features QPD autofocus and 16-to-1 pixel binning. In the default mode, you can capture photographs with a resolution of 12.5 MP with a 2.24 m pitch, 50 MP with a 1.12 m pitch, and even 200 MP with a 0.56 m pitch.
Additionally, the large sensor is capable of staggered HDR, 14-bit color depth, 8K video recording at 30 frames per second, and 4K at 120 frames per second. Sadly, only 4K video recording is possible with the Dimensity 1080 chipset.
The 50MP main camera of the Redmi Note 12 Pro features a Sony IMX766 sensor and OIS. Both phones have an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth assist sensor. Front-facing selfie cameras have a 16MP resolution.
Battery and Charger
Other features include 5,000 mAh batteries in both the Redmi 12 Pro and Pro+, with the Pro charging at up to 67W speeds for the Pro while the Pro+ has 120W fast charging. Both devices have the headphone jack and run MIUI 13 on Android 12.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is available in four colors: white, black, blue, and a special Yibo Edition featuring a dual-tone green and black back. With the exception of the Yibo Edition, which is now a pink gradient colour, the Redmi Note 12 Pro is offered in the same color selections.

Like its Pro brothers, the regular Redmi Note 12 features a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
There is only a 2MP depth module in addition to the 48MP primary camera. The 8MP selfie camera has a limit.
