Saudi-led airstrikes hit a crowded market near a gas station in al-Hazm, al-Jawf province on Wednesday, killing 13 people and wounding 16 others, including three women, the Houthi-run Health Ministry said.
Calling the attack a war crime requiring an international investigation, the ministry reported heavy damage to nearby shops and homes. The Saudi-backed Yemeni government made no immediate statement.
Meanwhile, Yemeni officials requested international support to protect civilians in Taiz amid an intensified Houthi siege.
In Aden, explosions shattered windows at the airport and nearby homes following an evacuation warning by Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree, who claimed without evidence that a Saudi military cargo plane carrying weapons was present.
The warning left Aden airport deserted, forcing Cairo and Mumbai flights to divert to Seiyun Airport in Hadramawt province and canceling a Cairo-bound flight.
Separately, in Belgrade, Serbia, a police officer guarding the Israeli Embassy shot dead a knife-wielding assailant in a suspected terrorist attack.
