Ulan Bator, Oct. 5 (Xinhua/UNB) -- Two people were killed in northern Mongolia after a bear attacked a Mongolian ger, the country's largest traditional round-shaped dwelling, the National Police Agency said on Saturday.
"A 55-year-old man and his eight-year-old son were killed in a bear attack in Yeruu soum of Selenge province on Thursday. The killer bear has not yet been found," said NPA spokesperson Munkhtur Munkhshur.
"Many black bears have migrated from Russia into the northern parts of Mongolia due to severe forest fires in Siberia this summer. Officials believe that the killer bear may be one of them," Munkhshur added, urging local residents to prevent other potential attacks.
Police officers and emergency specialists are now working at the scene.
