Donald Trump has said the United States is working on a new agreement with Iran that he claims will be "far better" than deals reached by previous administrations.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump referred to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signed in 2015 between Iran and world powers including the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany.
He described the agreement as "one of the Worst Deals ever made having to do with the Security of our Country", adding that it was "a guaranteed Road to a Nuclear Weapon", which "will not, and cannot, happen".
Trump, who withdrew the US from the deal during his first term, also claimed that if the agreement had remained in place, nuclear weapons would have been used "on Israel, and all over the Middle East".
