The special task force and Directorate of National Consumers' Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a raid on Monday fined 122 traders and realized Tk 12.45 lakh for irregularities including not drawing up a price list and selling products at high prices.
The special task force conducted a raid across the country to keep the prices of daily necessities including potatoes, eggs, onions, broiler chicken, vegetables, and edible oil stable and the supply normal.
During this time, 122 traders have been fined Tk 12.45 lakh for not following the directive of the DNCRP.
The task force and DNCRP said that market supervision activities are being conducted in all divisions and districts of the country, including the capital Dhaka, to keep the prices of daily essentials stable and the supply normal.
Five teams led by officials of the task force conducted supervision activities in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area. During this time, 50 teams of the department conducted raids in 36 districts of the country and fined 122 traders.
Representatives of the government and private departments and organizations under the task force, including the district and upazila administrations, were present in the raid.
