Chattogtam, Oct 11 (UNB) – Customs intelligence officials on Friday detained two persons with 295 cartons of foreign cigarettes and a gold bar from Shah Amanat International Airport.

The identity of the duo has not been revealed yet.

Aminul Islam, Assistant Commissioner of Chattogram Customs House, said the two were detained from Air Arabia flight G9-521 that landed Chattogram from Sharjah around 8:30am.

“We recovered 295 cartons of foreign cigarette and a gold bar from their possession,” he said, adding that the items are worth an estimated Tk 12.37 lakh.
