International Justice Mission (IJM) Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Department of Social Services (DSS), organised a three-day training on victim support services and management for 25 caregivers of the Child Development Centre (Girls) at Konabari in Gazipur, which concluded on Thursday.
The training aimed to enhance caregivers’ understanding of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), help them identify CSEC victims and enable them to provide better support services.
It was organised under a strategic partnership between IJM Bangladesh and the DSS.
DSS Director (Institution) Mohd Kamruzzaman attended the closing ceremony as chief guest.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) of Gazipur Tania Tabassum and IJM Bangladesh Country Director Claire Wilkinson were present as special guests.
Social case workers, counsellors, assistant teachers, trade instructors, embroidery instructors, computer instructors, child protection social workers, psychiatric social workers, psychosocial counsellors, medical assistants, probation officers, nurses and junior physical instructors of the Konabari Child Development Centre participated in the training.
IJM Bangladesh will implement activities in 11 districts under the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions.
