The Election Commission (EC) has awarded registration to 29 more local organisations as election observers in the second phase ahead of the 12th parliamentary elections scheduled for January 07.
The Public Relations wing of the EC Secretariat on Wednesday published the list of 29 organisations that received registration.

Earlier, the EC made 67 local organisations registered as election observers in the first phase. With the new 29 organisations, the total number of registered election observing organisations has stood at 96 now.
The 29 organisations which have obtained registration include Development Organization of the Rural Poor-DORP (Shewrapara, Dhaka), Patyasha Samajik Unnayan Sangstha (Chuadanga), Society for Rural Basic Need- SRUBAN (Barishal), SAARC Manobadhikar Foundation (Banani, Dhaka), Election Monitoring Forum (Banani, Dhaka), Rural Vision-RV (Gangni, Meherpur), Tarafsartaj Shanti Sangh-TSS (Bogura), People's Association for Social Advancement-PASA (Chunarughat, Habiganj), Pathway (Kafrul, Dhaka), Empowerment Through Law of the Common People (Dhanmondi, Dhaka), Jago Foundation Trust (Banani, Dhaka), Nice Foundation ( Doulatpur, Khulna), Nari Unnayan Sangstha (Kachua, Chandpur), Sufia Hanif Foundation (Purana Paltan, Dhaka) and Social Advancement Community Organization-SACO (Mirzaganj, Patuakhali).

The rest organisations are Sobartore Amra Foundation-STAF (Adabar, Dhaka), Bian Moni Society (Shyamoli, Dhaka), Agrogati Seba Sangstha (Belabo, Narsingdi), Al-Qur'an Prachar Sangstha Bangladesh (Mohammadpur, Dhaka), International Asf Legal Aid Foundation (Shyamoli, Dhaka), ARD-Association for Rural Development (Sylhet), Bangladesh Manobadhikar Samannoy Parishad-BAMASP (Kazipara, Dhaka), Rajarhat Swabolomi Sangstha (Kurigram), Sangati Samaj Kalyan Sangstha (Mirpur, Dhaka), Udvaboni Mohila Sangstha (Fultola, Khulna), Voluntary Organization for the Needy-VON (Manikganj), Dinajpur Palli Unnayan Prochesta (Dinajpur), Self Development Initiative-SDI (Badarganj, Rangpur) and Bedo Arthosamajik Kendra (Belkuchi, Sirajganj).
