At least three people died and three others were injured after a CNG-run autorickshaw collided head-on with a sand-laden truck in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila.
The incident happened at Bharuakhali Bazar area on the Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as the autorickshaw driver Arman Mia , 40, Khokon Mia, 40, and Mozaffar Hossain, 48.
The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Sohrab Hossain, additional superintendent of police of Jamalpur Sadar circle, said the collision took place when the Jamalpur-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a sand-laden truck coming from the opposite direction in the Bharuakhali bazar area.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, said the police official.
The bodies were sent to Jamalpur General Hospital for autopsy.
The truck involved in the incident was seized, but its driver fled the scene. Legal action will be taken in this regard, said Addl SP.
