Islamic University, June 17 (UNB) - Three students of Islamic University (IU) were injured falling off a black berry tree on the campus in Kushtia on Sunday evening.
The injured were identified as Rakib Hossain, a second year student of Management Department, Dipu Kumar Paul and Kamal, both first year students of Law department of the university.
Witnesses said Kamal climbed up a tree adjacent to the vice-chancellor's bungalow to pick black berry at about 6:00pm.
At one stage, when Kamal was falling off the tree after breaking a branch Rakib and Dipu rushed there to save him. But the branch fell on them, leaving the trio critically injured.
Students rescued them and took to IU central hospital for treatment.
SM Shahed, the duty doctor of IU central hospital, said Kamal and Dipu were sent to Kushtia Sadar Hospital for better treatment.
