Satkhira, Aug 28 (UNB) – A case has been filed against three people over the ‘rape’ of a woman in Kaliganj upazila.
The victim filed the case with Kaliganj Police Station on Monday, said its officer-in-charge Hasan Hafizur Rahman.
The accused are rural practitioner Moniruzzaman Moni, Abdul Hannan and Firoz Hossain.
According to the case statement, Moni of Kajla village took the victim to the house of Rafiqul Islam at Ghorapota village on Sunday with a promise to give her a good job and violated her there with the help of Hannan and Firoz.
Hearing victim’s screams, locals rushed in, rescued the woman and caught Hannan while others managed to flee the scene. The angry mob gave Hannan a good thrashing before handing him over to police.
Police were trying to arrest the other accused, said the OC.
