It said a total of 64,765 patients were admitted to hospitals during the period and 59,030 of them were discharged after recovery.
In 24 hours till 8am on Monday, some 1,625 dengue patients left hospitals against the hospitalisation of 1,251.
The new infections have also marked a fall by 4 percent than Sunday’s 1,299. Of the new patients, 577 were recorded in Dhaka alone with 674 in other parts of the country.
Currently, 5,562 patients are being treated at different hospitals and clinics, according to the DGHS Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room.
Of them, 3,081 are taking treatment in Dhaka and 2,481 outside the capital.
The DGHS also raised the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 52 from Sunday’s 47.
Meanwhile, two people have died of dengue in Dhaka and Shariatpur.
In the capital, a woman, Hena Begum, 45, of Shyampur succumbed to the mosquito-borne disease at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Monday afternoon.
In-charge of DMCH police camp Inspector Bachchu Mia said Hena was admitted to the hospital around 11am. She died at the one-stop crisis centre around 4pm, he said.
A college student lost his battle to dengue in Shariatpur on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Md Dadon Laskar, 25, son of Jamal Hossain of Idilpur union in Gosairhat upazila.
Victim’s family said Dadon fell sick on August 15 while working in a hotel at Banani in Dhaka. Later on August 23, he was diagnosed with dengue after was admitted to Gosairhat Health Complex following his return from the capital.
On Sunday afternoon, Dadon died on the way to Sadar Hospital as doctors referred him there following deterioration of his condition, said resident medical officer of the upazila hospital Dr Ibrahim Khalil.
Civil Surgeon of the district Dr Md Khalilur Rahman said 388 people have so far been diagnosed with dengue infections in the district and currently 28 are taking treatment at different hospitals.
