Ministry of Cultural Affairs has so far distributed Tk 6.66 cr among the unemployed and insolvent cultural activists who have become unemployed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
KM Khalid, State Minister for the Cultural Affairs, came up with the information while talking to reporters at the secretariat.
In the first phase 3,200 cultural activists got Tk 1.60 cr and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy distributed Tk 1.52 cr among 3040 cultural activists in the second phase, he said.
Moreover, the ministry directly donated Tk 37 lakh for 1021 cultural activists following applications from individuals and different cultural organisations, he added.
Besides, the ministry also distributed Tk 5.89 cr among 3,756 listed and insolvent cultural activists, Khalid said.
