Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 Judge Abu Zafor Mohammad Kamruzzaman recorded the statement of Abrar’s father Barkat Ullah who is also the plaintiff of the case.
“My son was killed after being tortured for six hours. I demand justice,” Barkat said.
Twenty-two accused were produced before the court during the hearing. The court fixed Tuesday for the next hearing.
On Sep 20, the court fixed Oct 5 for witness deposition.
On Sept 15, the tribunal framed charges against 25 accused.

Three of the accused – Jishan, Rafid and Tanim – are absconding.
Abrar, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering, was beaten to death reportedly by then Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university.
He was found dead on the staircase of the hall in the early hours of October 7 last year. His murder sparked a nationwide outcry.
On Nov 13, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) submitted chargesheet before the court. On Nov 18, the court accepted the chargesheet against 25 accused.
On January 13 this year, the case was shifted to the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court from Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
On March 12, the murder case was moved to Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 after Abrar’s parents met the Law Minister and urged to shift the case to a speedy trial tribunal.
