The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil issued the order on Monday after hearing separate writ petitions filed by the actor.
Ashraful Alam, popularly known as Hero Alam, moved the court on Sunday challenging the EC’s decision to cancel his nomination to contest the upcoming polls from the Bogura-4 constituency.
The EC rejected his nomination on December 2 as he could not submit the signatures of one percent voters of his constituency.
Hero Alam rose to internet fame several years ago after clips of his music videos and short films went viral on the social media.
He tried to capitalize his new-found fame and contest the national election but was not picked by political parties. Alam then went on to file nomination as an independent candidate.
