Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan emphasized the need for strict vigilance against corruption and the importance of transparency and accountability among government officials.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the November coordination meeting of the Local Government Division at the Secretariat on Thursday.
The meeting, chaired by Md. Nazrul Islam, Secretary of the Local Government Division, focused on a range of issues, including the progress of decisions made in the previous coordination meeting, project monitoring and evaluation, grievance redressal, and ongoing dengue control activities.
The adviser said that government officials must work impartially to fulfill the aspirations of the people, free from political influence.
"We must be vigilant and ensure that corruption is rooted out at all levels," he said, adding that transparency and accountability should be the cornerstone of all government operations.
He also instructed the Local Government Division to prioritize the redistribution of the budget, ensuring that more resources are allocated to deprived areas, following a review at the district level.
Regarding the vacancies in various departments, he confirmed that the recruitment process for important vacant posts under the Local Government Division would begin soon.

Secretary Nazrul Islam highlighted that efforts are underway to increase the efficiency and dynamism of all officials, with a focus on delivering government services to the public in a quicker and more effective manner.
Senior officials from the Local Government Division and heads of various departments and organizations were also present at the meeting.
