He made the remarks at a programme of agricultural tools distribution organised by local agriculture office at Madhupur in Tangail.
“The high production cost must be reduced to ensure profit for farmers. We’ll mechanise agriculture for this,” the minister said.

“Machines must be used for paddy harvest,” Razzaque said, adding that this year the government has distributed agricultural equipment among farmers.
A Tk 3,200 crore project for mechanising agriculture is waiting for Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) nod, he said.
“This will revolutionise agriculture,” the minister said.
Talking about insect attacks on plants in Cox’s Bazar, Razzaque said their samples were sent to the scientists for examination.
“We’ll take steps as per their advice,” he said.
