Dhaka Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rezaul Karim Malik on Sunday pledged to transform every police station under his jurisdiction into a model of professional policing, vowing to personally monitor all cases to ensure justice and transparency.

Briefing reporters at his office in the morning, DIG Malik said, “I will personally oversee the general diaries, complaints and cases filed by the public. A trained team has been formed to ensure thorough scrutiny of each matter.”

He said monitoring centres equipped with CCTVs have been installed at all 98 police stations under the Dhaka Range. “I will connect with service seekers and victims through video calls to ensure they receive proper support from the police,” he said.

A special monitoring cell will also be set up at the DIG office to oversee cases related to mass uprisings. “Through this cell, I will speak directly to plaintiffs, victims, and the families of those martyred or injured during the uprisings, and take appropriate legal measures,” he added.

Urging citizens to stay away from unlawful activities, DIG Malik said, “No matter where you are, follow the law. We are here to serve you and need your cooperation. Trust us—we are committed to maintaining law and order across all 13 districts under the Dhaka Range with utmost professionalism.”

He also encouraged residents to report any allegations against criminals or police personnel directly to him. “People from all 98 police stations can visit my office during scheduled hours. If anyone fails to receive expected service from their local police, I will personally hear and address the issue.”

The DIG sought the cooperation of journalists in disseminating the message and building public confidence in law enforcement.
