Dhaka, Oct 8 (UNB) – Three judges of the High Court were appointed judges to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Monday, raising the number of judges in the Appellate Division to seven.
Those newly appointed judges are Zinat Ara, Abu Bakar Siddiquee and Md Nuruzzaman.
President Abdul Hamid gave the appointment on Monday, said Barrister MD Saifur Rahman, a special officer of the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain will administer the oath to the Judges at the Supreme Court Judges' Lounge at 10:30 am on Tuesday.
Currently, there are four judges -- Syed Mahmud Hossain, Muhammad Imman Ali, Hasan Foez Siddique, and Mirza Hussain Haider-- at the Appellate Division.
