A fire that broke out at a high-rise building in the capital’s Banani area on Wednesday evening was brought under control after nearly two hours.
The fire originated on the top floor of an 11-storey building near Kacha Bazar on Road No. 12 in the area around 6:30pm, said Warehouse Inspector Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell.
On information, seven firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 8:15pm, he said.
No casualties were reported as of the time of filing this report at 8:50pm.
