Bangladesh and Ghana have underscored the need for adopting aggressive Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by the developed countries and materializing the commitment of allocating $100 billion annually.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen met his Ghanaian counterpart Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey in Accra, Ghana on Tuesday and discussed the issue.
Ghana and Bangladesh are the Troika-members of the Climate Vulnerable Forum as the current and immediate past chairs respectively of the organization.
Both foreign ministers agreed to share experience and expertise in the agriculture sector towards mutual benefit and also discussed ways of possible collaboration in the pharmaceutical and IT sectors, among others, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Momen to attend UN peacekeeping ministerial in Ghana on Dec 5-6
Foreign Minister Momen is leading a high-level Bangladesh delegation to the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial currently being held in Accra, Ghana.
He spoke as a panelist in an event on “improving environmental management in peacekeeping” co-hosted by the UN and USA.
Momen is scheduled to return home on Thursday.
