Bangladesh achieved notable success at the 48th WorldSkills Competition (WorldSkills Shanghai 2026) in China, securing 10th position in Computer Software Testing and 15th in Mobile Application Development.
Bangladeshi participant Mashfi Rezoan Saikat, who competed in Computer Software Testing, was officially presented with the prestigious 'Best of Nation' award at the closing ceremony on Monday evening, according to a press release issued by the National Skill Development Authority (NSDA).
The 'Best of Nation' winner is initially nominated by the respective delegation head based on individual performance and subsequently finalized through a vote by member countries at the WorldSkills International General Assembly.
Around 1,400 competitors from 68 countries participated across 64 skill categories in this year's global skills competition in Shanghai.
A five-member Bangladesh delegation, led by Dr. Nazneen Kawsar Chowdhury, Executive Chairman (Secretary) of the NSDA, attended the closing ceremony.
During the event, the NSDA-led delegation engaged in bilateral meetings and discussions with various international partners and skills development organizations. The talks focused on strengthening Bangladesh's skills development framework, fostering international cooperation, and enhancing preparations for WorldSkills Japan 2028.
