The students who are from poor families must apply online in a prescribed form to get the facilities, said a press release on Sunday.
As the admission process started across the country on Sunday, thousands of college students from marginalised families are facing an uncertain future as their families are in trouble, it said.
The press release said the students must apply online here: https://forms.gle/S6q1UD5FemWAgfTd8
After an application is submitted, the foundation said, a designated team of Bidyanondo will communicate with the applicant within 24 hours. A valid phone number must be included in the application.
Zakir Hossain Pavel, an executive committee member of the Bidyanondo Foundation, said the future of thousands of students who are looking for admission to colleges will be ruined if they do not get support.
He said this year’s devastating floods and recent cyclone have left a trail of destruction in parts of the country, making poor people poorer as they have lost their homes, crops, and livelihoods.
On the other hand, Pavel said, coronavirus pandemic has pushed many families towards economic hardships making people’s lives even harder.
“Under the situation, we can’t sit idle. Bidyanondo leadership has decided to stand by these students from marginalised families across the country,” he said.
Pavel also urged the rich, corporate houses or any other organisations to come forward in support of the Bidyanondo Foundation’s endeavour to help thousands of students who desperately need assistance.
