The bodies of four expatriate brothers who died in Oman in a tragic incident have arrived in Bangladesh.
The bodies arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 8:15pm on Tuesday by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
The four bothers -Rashedul Islam, Sahedul Islam, Md Siraj and Md Shahid- died on May 12 in Al Muladdah area of Al Batinah South Governorate in Oman reportedly after inhaling carbon monoxide gas from a vehicle’s air-conditioning exhaust while sleeping inside the car.
Rangunia MP Humam Quader Chowdhury received the bodies at the airport and handed them over to the deceased’s relatives.
Each of the deceased families received Tk 35,000 as financial assistance from the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment for transportation and burial expenses.
The bodies were later taken to Rangunia upazila in Chattogram early Wednesday where they will be laid to rest beside Bandherajapara Jam e Mosque.
Royal Oman Police has launched an investigation into the incident.
