A 15-day “BSCIC Shilpo Ponno Mela-2021” began Friday (26/02/2021) in Netrakona aiming to boost up the SME business marking birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
As the chief guest of the fair, the chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Md Mushtaq Hasan inaugurated the function while Superintendent of Police of the district Md Akbar Ali Munshi and additional secretary of industries ministry Mostaq Ahmad also were present there as the special guest.

Entrepreneurs have displayed different local products including various handicraft and cottage industries products, jute and its products, jute shoes, eco-friendly stoves, alternative fuels, home furnishings, eco-friendly bricks, nursery products, processed food items, cosmetics, boutiques at the 50 stalls there.
“We have stood beside SME entrepreneurs to support them for overcoming their loss posed by the COVID-19 pandemic arranging the fair. The fair has arranged to maintain all hygiene issues of the virus,” BSCIC chairman said.

He also added that they have already arranged such fairs in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Bogra, Jhenaidah and Sylhet.
The fair will remain open from 10am to 10pm everyday for all.

Deputy Commissioner of the district Kazi Md Abdur Rahman presided over the function while district deputy manager of BSCIC Md Akram Hossain gave the welcome speech.
