The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday approved two proposals involving Tk 93.19 crore for consultancy and technical services in the railway and fertiliser sectors.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury chaired the CCGP meeting held at the NEC.
Under the first proposal, the committee recommended appointing a consortium of SMEC International Pty. Ltd. of Australia, SAA Architects Pte. Ltd. of Singapore, Yooshin Engineering Corporation of South Korea and ACE Consultants Ltd. of Bangladesh for consultancy services under the Bangladesh Railway project titled “Green Railway Transport Preparatory Technical Assistance”.
The consultancy, costing Tk 53.67 crore, will cover a feasibility study and conceptual design for constructing a multimodal transport hub at Dhaka Airport Railway Station (DABB) and facilitating the construction of a multimodal transport hub at Dhaka Kamalapur Railway Station.
Surbana Jurong (Bangladesh) Ltd and Development Design Consultants Ltd (DDC), Bangladesh, will work as sub-consultants with the consortium.
The consultancy will be procured under Package SD1 of the project.
In another proposal, the committee recommended the appointment of MHI, Japan, for providing technical services to ensure uninterrupted production at Ghorashal Palash Fertiliser PLC.
The one-year Technical Service (Phase-2) contract, valued at Tk 39.53 crore, will provide technical assistance from MHI, the General Contractor, in daily production and maintenance activities at the fertiliser plant.
The proposal was placed by the Industries Ministry under a single-source procurement arrangement.
