Chattogram, May 4 (UNB) – Operations resumed at Bangladesh’s premier sea port on Saturday afternoon after a 30-hour disruption caused by cyclone ‘Fani’.
Normal cargo and containers handling started around 5pm, said Md Omar Faruk, secretary of Chattogram Port Authority.
Loading and unloading of goods from vessels resumed in the evening, he added.
The weather office had announced danger level six for the port when cyclone ‘Fani’ approached. It hit Bangladesh in the morning.
‘Fani’ has now weakened into a well-marked low over the Mymensingh-Netrokona region.
