An ‘Open House Day’ was held at Pallabi Police Station on Saturday with a call to strengthen community policing activities to prevent drugs, terrorism, militancy, extortion and juvenile crime.
The programme was organised at a community centre in the Pallabi area under the theme, “Community Policing, Together We Build a Safe Society,” with participation from people of different professions under the police station .

State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque attended the programme as the chief guest, while acting commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) SN Md Nazrul Islam was present as the special guest.
The event was chaired by Md Mostaq Sarkar, DMP"s Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Mirpur Division.
At the beginning of the programme, Md Mostaq Sarkar delivered the opening speech. Later, an open discussion session was held for the public where local residents presented various problems, suggestions and complaints.
During the programme, SN Md Nazrul Islam answered different questions from the participants and highlighted the importance of cooperation between police and the public in maintaining law and order.
He also stressed the importance of family education in building a better society, creating employment opportunities for youths and developing young people going abroad as skilled and trained manpower.
In his closing speech, Aminul Haque emphasised strengthening community policing activities to prevent drugs, terrorism and juvenile crime and called upon all to work together to build a safe society.
