Among the infected policemen, 2,120 are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) alone.
Frontline coronavirus fighters like doctors, members of various police units, including Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), Armed Forces and and other agencies have been getting infected while performing duties. They have been jointly working to ensure social distancing alongside other regular activities.
Meanwhile, 30 members of the law enforcement agency, including civilian members, died of COVID-19 till Sunday morning, sources said.
So far, 3,450 policemen have been kept in isolation while 9,375 were sent to quarantine. Most of the recovered policemen have joined their respective duty stations.

To cope with the worsening situation, Bangladesh Police hired 250-bed Impulse Hospital in the capital in May for the treatment of coronavirus-infected police members.
Bangladesh on Sunday reported 3,531 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 112,306.
In the last 24 hours, 39 more patients lost their lives, raising the death toll to 1,464.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
