The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) claims to have gleaned 'sensational' information about the planning and those who set fire to various buses in Mugda and other areas of the capital during the nationwide blockade enforced by the BNP and like-minded opposition parties, including resurgent Jamaat e Islami.
Additional Commissioner and the chief of the CTTC unit Md Asaduzzaman revealed as much in a press conference organized at the DMP media center of Minto Road in the capital on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, the CTTC raided Gazipur, and Keraniganj, the outskirts of the capital and arrested three people, including a leader of Juba Dal, youth front of BNP. They were identified as Mizanur Rahman, Amir Hossain Rocky and Sakib. The top officer of the CTTC Unit claimed to have found sensational information during primary interrogation of the arrested trio.
The CTTC chief said that political miscreants tried to escape by setting fire to a bus of Midline Transport in Mugda area on November 1. At that time the police arrested Al Amin with the help of locals. During primary interrogation, Al-Amin disclosed who ordered the disruptive acts and why.

Al Amin revealed that he boarded the bus with one bottle of petrol at Titipara Railgate along with three others, including team leader Mizanur. As soon as the bus reached the spot, they set fire inside the bus and tried to escape. At that time, three people including Mizanur, aka Mizan, managed to escape, but Al Amin was caught by the police of Mugda police station with the help of locals. Mizan was later arrested from Gazipur in connection with the fire incident.
CTTC chief Asaduzzaman claimed on interrogation, the arrested Mizan gave a detailed description of how the plan he had followed to set fire to buses.

Asaduzzaman said that getting orders from a leader of the Dhaka City Juba Dal, Mizan and others set fire to some other buses during the first phase of the blockade.
