Manikganj, Nov 9 (UNB) – As severe cyclone Bubul is likely to enter Bangladesh in hours, authorities on Saturday night suspended ferry services on the Paturia-Doulatdia route.
Zillur Rahman, additional general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at the Aricha, said they suspended the ferry services around 10pm to avoid any accident following strong wind and waves in the river
He said all the ferries were kept anchored at Paturia and Doulatdia ghats.
Meanwhile, over 500 vehicles, including 300 buses, got stuck on both sides of terminal following the suspension of the ferry service.
