The development works are costing the government a fortune, but their outputs are failing to live up to the expectations, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said Saturday.
The government is spending a lot of money on different projects, but the quality of the work is not as good as it should be, he added.
The foreign minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new committee of Madina Market Traders Association in Sylhet city.
"Although the Dhaka-Sylhet six-lane highway project progressed well, its land acquisition work came to a halt due to a lack of surveyors. The work was being carried out with only two surveyors instead of 36. I spoke to the land minister and arranged for six more surveyors." Momen said.
"The Sylhet-Tamabil four-lane highway is also my priority project. It faced land acquisition problems, but I have solved it all."
