Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were held at the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Saturday morning, with a large number of devotees participating in the congregation arranged beneath the South Plaza tunnel.
The prayers were held at 8:00am at the specially prepared venue.
Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Hafiz Uddin Ahmad joined the congregation along with officials and employees of the Parliament Secretariat and devotees from different walks of life.
Arrangements were made for women to offer Eid prayers at the venue for the first time.
Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Kaniz Mowla also took part in the congregation.
Following the prayers, dates were distributed among the worshippers.
A special munajat was offered after the khutba, seeking peace, prosperity and well-being for the nation as well as the entire Muslim Ummah.
The munajat was conducted by Senior Imam of the Parliament Secretariat, Muhammad Saifullah.
After the prayers, the Speaker exchanged Eid greetings with the devotees, who also embraced one another and shared greetings in the spirit of the occasion.
