An 18-year-old electrician died after being electrocuted while working at a building in the capital’s Gandaria area on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Sabbir, son of Khokon Mia of Kalmakanda upazila in Netrakona district.
Sabbir was electrocuted while doing electrical work at a building on Distillery Road in the area around 5 pm, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors declared him dead, said Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH Police Camp.
The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, he said.
