A fire that broke out at the Customs auction shed near Chattogram Port stadium on Thursday morning has been brought under control .
Following the incident, the port's firefighting unit, the Bangladesh Navy and four units of the Fire Service launched a joint operation and brought the blaze under control at around 9:30am, said Md Nasir Uddin, secretary of the Chattogram Port Authority.
Officials said the shed contained auctioned food products including rice and lentils.
However, no official estimate of the damage was immediately available.
A Fire Service control room official said three units from the Agrabad and Port stations responded to the incident and successfully controlled the fire.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will be determined after an investigation, officials said.
