Five parliamentary committees, including the Business Advisory Committee, were formed on the first day of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed announced the formation of the Business Advisory Committee and the House Committee during the sitting, while Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni proposed the names for three other committees.

The proposals for the Special Committee, the Committee on Privileges and the Committee on Private Members’ Bills and Resolutions were later approved by voice vote of the House.
The committees were constituted during the sitting of parliament presided over by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
The Business Advisory Committee will be chaired by the Speaker. Its members are Leader of the House Tareque Rahman, Leader of the Opposition Shafiqul Rahman, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Nurul Islam Moni, Asaduzzaman, Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, ATM Azharul Islam, Nahid Islam and Naoshad Jamir.
The House Committee will be chaired by Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni. Its members include Rakibul Islam, Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Opu, Kaysar Ahmed, Shahidul Islam, Nayab Yusuf Ahmed, Jahangir Hossain, Oli Ullah, Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Saiful Alam and Abul Hasnat.
A 14-member special committee has been formed to examine 133 ordinances issued during the tenure of the interim government.
The committee will be chaired by Zainal Abedin. Other members are Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Salahuddin Ahmed, Nurul Islam Moni, Asaduzzaman, Dr M Osman Faruk, AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Abdul Bari, Naoshad Jamir, Mujibur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam Khan and GM Nazrul Islam.
The Committee on Privileges will be headed by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed. Its members are Leader of the House Tareque Rahman, Opposition Leader Shafiqul Rahman, Kaysar Kamal, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nurul Islam Moni, Zainal Abedin Faruk and Nahid Islam. Another member from the opposition will be nominated later.
Meanwhile, the Committee on Private Members’ Bills and Private Members’ Resolutions will be chaired by Md Shahjahan.
The members of the committee are Asaduzzaman, Aman Ullah Aman, AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Abul Khayer Bhuiyan, Tahsina Rushdi, Naoshad Jamir, Shahjahan Chowdhury, Nurul Islam Bulbul and Akhtar Hossain.
All three committees proposed by the chief whip were approved by the House through voice vote.
