The Foreign Minister, during the meeting on Thursday, briefed him about the history of Bangladesh under Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the recent developments in Bangladesh under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He mentioned the government’s current priority on economic diplomacy, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dr Momen apprised him of the products and services from Bangladesh especially garments, pharmaceuticals and skilled and educated human resources which could be of use for Ecuador.
They also discussed the prospect of extending bilateral trade relation through bilateral agreements and through membership in the regional trade organisations of common membership.
Foreign Minister Momen thanked Ecuador for their continued support for the Rohingya crisis and informed him of the verdict of the ICJ, which is a victory for global humanity.
The Foreign Minister is visiting Ecuador in connection with the conference of Global Forum on Migration and Development.
