Five people including four of a family were killed and another was injured in a collision between a truck and a CNG autorickshaw in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi this afternoon, said police.
The deceased were identified as Insab Ali, 75, his son Ayub Ali, 38, his sister Parvin, 35, Parveen's daughter Sharmin, 17, and autorickshaw driver Mokles Ali, 45.

The four members of the family were passengers of the autorickshaw and were going to Rajshahi city from Kantapur village in Gurdaspur upazila of Natore for the treatment. Driver Mokles hailed from Mokimpur village of the same upazila.
The injured Hridoy, 19, was the helper of the truck and is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Puthia police station, confirmed the development saying that the accident occurred around 2pm when the Puthia-bound truck loaded-with TCB goods crashed into the autorickshaw in Belpukur Bypass Crossing.

As a result, both the vehicles plunged into a roadside ditch leaving one dead on the spot and five others injured, he said.
The injured were rushed to the RMCH where physicians declared the four dead, he said, adding that the trucker managed to flee.
