Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said on Thursday that sanitary napkins will be provided free of cost to women at all of the country’s health service centres.
The minister came up with the announcement while speaking at a press conference marking weeklong ‘Family Welfare Service and Campaign Week-2019’ at the auditorium of the Department of Family Planning.
He said that due to high cost, girls in rural areas could not afford to buy sanitary napkins which may lead to cancer and other chronic diseases. For that sanitary napkins will be provided from all government health complexes free of cost.
