A total of 130 garment factories in Ashulia, Savar and Dhamrai have been declared closed due to workers’ protest.
The closure notices were seen at the entrances of factories today.
Mohammad Sarwar Alam, superintendent of Savar Industrial Police, said the authorities concerned have closed 130 garment factories in Savar, Ashulia and Dhamrai for an indefinite period.

During a visit, several garment factories including Rose Dresses Limited, Ananta Garments Limited, Pioneer Limited, AR Jeans Producer Limited, Agami Apparels Limited, Crosswear Limited, Sain Apparels Limited, Textown Limited, Ornet Knit Garments Industries Limited and others were seen to be closed.
