The general diary (GD) will be lodged online if the server is okay, otherwise, it will be done manually, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman said on Sunday.
“Our internet-based system is facing problems due to server down or slow. But, GD will be done on time whether online or manually,” he said.
The DMP chief was speaking at the crime review meeting for April at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Sunday.
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam was also present at the meeting.
"We have to be careful so that common people who come to file General Diary (GD) do not suffer due to the server complications," Commissioner added.
DMP Commissioner said everyone should be aware of theft in the metropolis. Arrested thieves should be monitored to ensure that they are not granted bail and their movements should be monitored even if they are got bail.
He said we have to make advance preparations for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha cattle market. Have to sit with the organizers in this regard, they have to be clearly informed that cattle should not come outside the designated area. “If needed, the designated area for the market should be surrounded with bamboo fence,”.
“CCTV cameras should be installed in the markets for security. There should also be proper planning and preparation to prevent the slaughter of sacrificial animals everywhere.”
The DMP Commissioner further said that crimes related to mobile phones cannot be ignored. “Arrangements should be made to return the recovered mobile phone to the rightful owner.”
Besides, everyone should be careful about the use of mobile phones, said the DMP chief.
