The overall number of Covid cases has now surged past 594 million amid a rise in new infections in parts of the world.
According to the latest global data, the total case count mounted to 594,049,752 and the death toll reached 6,451,846 on Saturday morning.
The US has recorded 94,643,632 cases so far and 1,062,151 people have died from the virus in the country, the data shows.
India's daily Covid-19 caseload Friday increased to 16,561, taking the total tally to 44,223,557 in the country, according to federal health ministry data.
Friday's new cases marked an increase in comparison to the daily caseload of Thursday, which was 16,299.

Currently, India's active caseload stands at 123,535.
The country also logged 49 related deaths in 24 hours, pushing the overall death toll to 526,928 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.
The daily positivity rate stands at 5.44 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 4.88 percent, the ministry data showed.
Covid in Bangladesh
Bangladesh recorded two more Covid-linked deaths with 218 fresh cases in 24 hours till Friday morning.
With the latest numbers, the total fatalities reached 29,312 and the caseload 2,008,500, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily case positivity rate rose to 4.75 percent from Thursday's 4.45 percent as 4,585 samples were tested.
The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.46 percent. The recovery rate rose to 97.11 percent from Thursday's 97.10 percent.
In July, Bangladesh reported 142 Covid-linked deaths and 31,422 cases, the highest death toll and cases in the last five months since March this year, according to DGHS.
