Of the 157 Bangladeshis, 10 were sick and they were given treatment at the airport upon their return.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry, Bangladesh Embassy in Libya and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) helped repatriate them through a chartered aircraft that landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2pm, said the Foreign Ministry here.
The government has taken initiatives to bring back some 234 Bangladeshis who got trapped in Libya, said the ministry.
The rest of the Bangladeshis will be brought back soon, it said.
The Libyan government issued state alert amid conflict between groups and Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli also alerted the Bangladeshis in Libya to avert untoward situation.
The Embassy has also opened a 24-hour control room for the Bangladeshis.
