“Many women have lost their jobs during the outbreak which directly afected their economic, physical and social safety,” she said.
The State Minister came up with the remarks while attending a programme organised by the ministry at Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium over the coronavirus situation.
Responding to a query of journalists, Indira said that violence anaginst women and children are taking place across the globe and Bangladesh is not different from that but the ministry has been working to limit such violence.
“Different committees are working at field level to take instant action over any case of violence against women and children,” she added.
Project directors explained their detailed work plan in the programme where a decision was taken to initiate various long, mid and short term projects in this regard.
