Deputy Commissioner (Gulshan Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) M Tanvir Ahmed and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Model Police Station Daud Hossain have been withdrawn and attached to the DMP headquarters.
The DMP headquarters issued separate office orders in this regard on Wednesday.
According to the orders, the decisions were taken for administrative reasons.
The punitive action against the DC and OC came five days after leaders and activists of the Awami League, which faces a ban on its activities, brought out a procession in the Gulshan area of Dhaka on September 11.
