The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an urgent notice for the hajj pilgrims who are scheduled to fly for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
The Ministry said in the notification that the owners, partners, directors, and chairmen of the relevant Hajj agencies are hereby notified that tomorrow (Tuesday) there will be VVIP movement on Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Road - the reference being to BNP chairperson and thrice-former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Consequently, the road may experience a traffic gridlock.
Therefore, all Hajj agencies whose pilgrims will be travelling to Saudi Arabia on the following Hajj flights are asked to make sure they arrive at the Hajj camp by 6am on Tuesday morning in order to prevent any unwelcome traffic jam situations.
The flights include Saudia Airlines's flight number SV3809 at 12:50pm, and Biman flight numbers BG331 and BG135 at 14:05pm and 16:45pm, respectively.
For the same reason, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a set of parking guidelines for visitors and journalists, in order to maintain public safety and avoid traffic congestion on Tuesday.
